Anti-Aging Serums & Creams - Any Difference?

Confused dot com is what it’s like navigating your way through the innumerable mass of anti-aging products on the internet—creams, serums and more; then to find the right match to your skin’s needs. Read on.

What Is a Serum Used for?

Face serums are considered one of the most effective anti-aging products because of their concentration of active ingredients. Serums seem target specific skin concerns i.e., Dry, Combination Oily Skin etc. The concentrations in serums are designed to penetrate the skin faster and more easily than creams as they’re not diluted with moisturizing ingredients.

How to use: If you have a routine, it is often suggested that the serums come after the cleanser and toner but before the eye cream and moisturiser. Take a look at our serums.

What Are Anti-Aging Creams?

“Cream” is a catch-all term for all sorts of products—from your typical moisturizer to day and night creams. “Anti-aging creams are moisturizers with key ingredients that smooth fine lines and wrinkles. Some anti-aging creams are meant to brighten skin as well.” creams tend to be gentler and can be applied both morning and night.

How to use: Try to find an anti-aging cream or moisturizer that is compatible with your skin type. You should double-check that you’re not adding extra oil if you’re acne prone. Also, avoid products that include a drying agent if you already struggle with dehydrated skin. We try to design our creams to suit most skin types. Start perusing our creams.

What Are Eye Creams?

Whilst the level of pigmentation varies depending on your ethnicity and genetics, the skin around our eyes is among the first to show signs of aging.

The skin surrounding the eye area of your face is a little thinner and more delicate than the rest of the face. But as far as the formulas in an anti-aging cream and under-eye creams go the biggest difference isn’t really in the ingredients, but in the concentration, you’ll see a higher quantity of active ingredients in under-eye creams. Also, eye creams will tend to have very little to no fragrance, as they could cause some discomfort in this sensitive area.

How to use: After applying your anti-aging serum, let the first layer dry. Then, add a pea-sized amount, about the size of your pinkie-fingertip directly below your eye. Be careful not to get this in your eye, but massage gently and inwardly, so you don’t pull against the skin.

When to use: Though there’s not a bad time to start using eye cream says that when you hit your 30s, this is a good time to start investigating which eye cream is best for you. Check our eye cream.
